"A well-written book of grime that every true crime reader must have on their shelves or reading device. Compelling and captivating."--RJ Parker, bestselling author of Serial Killers Abridged Encyclopedia, Serial Killer Groupies and more.
New From The Author of Vampire The Richard Chase Murders and The Bundy Murders!
Think Kentucky is all about horses and mint juleps? You may revise that image with this excursion into the weird and the bizarre from a medieval-esque murder in a small town museum to the jilted boyfriend who decided that his former girlfriend needed to die on her twenty-first birthday. And then there’s the demented son who returns home to live with his mother and stepfather, and one night in their beautiful mansion sitting atop a high bluff overlooking the Ohio River, slaughters them. Each case will keep you on the edge of your seat.
From The AuthorAs I began my research into past Kentucky killers and their victims, I was well aware there were a good number of very unusual homicides from the Bluegrass State, as I’d read about them over the years in newspapers accounts, heard the strange tales from relatives and friends, or watched the occasional newscasts on TV.
But these sources were never in-depth studies of the cases in question; and worse still, very often, erroneous information came forth, and it wasn’t until I began the research, using the original case files, that I’d find out what really happened. And it would be in these moments of discovery, that an accurate picture of each individual tragedy would rise and take shape from the seemingly innumerable police reports and interviews of those involved.
Indeed, many of these ten stories I’ve “unearthed” would have been lost forever had I not sought them out from the dusty archives and storage facilities scattered throughout the state; stories that would, ultimately, be destined for obscurity and eventual disposal as the decades dragged on.
Recently, one radio interviewer, contemplating their bizarre aspects, quite rightly stated how all of these Kentucky murders resembled something out of The Twilight Zone, and I quickly had to agree with his assessment. That’s the nature of these cases, and frankly, it was what I was looking for in my quest to uncover true crime in Kentucky.
From The Story "Blood In The Moonlight" “As Bauer led the officer to the side door where they entered the house through the kitchen, Kendrick asked if he knew who’d done this, and Bauer said, “No.” Just before stepping inside the home, Kendrick radioed the Emergency Medical Services unit, telling them to continue on to this address – code 3 – and that homicide units should be sent as well. Having notified dispatch, Kendrick then drew his weapon and entered a nightmare."

First of all this author has done a great job putting these cases into a book. I have lived in KY for a few years now and drove down some parts of these streets and had no idea a crime happened so close. All sad cases but the one that really will stick with me is the case of little Joey who was two and a half years old. This book is easy to read and easy to follow. Every case grabs your attention to the point I could not put my kindle down. Great book and a must readProduct details

Kentucky Bloodbath Ten Bizarre Tales of Murder from the Bluegrass State edition by Kevin Sullivan Politics Social Sciences eBooks Reviews
My goodness! I live in Tennessee and had not heard of any of these terrible murders! Kevin Sullivan did a superb job relating all these events. A must read!
this was a good assortment of stories, even though they were small in size, they held quite a few details. glad to know they took a while to get the crimes done, they did. the criminals always do something wrong and the police find them.
Absolutely superb book. Any time you read a book by Kevin Sullivan, you won't be disappointed.
Buy it.
I bought it to read more about Box Hill murders. It had what I wanted to read. Toured Box Hill when it was for sale a lonnngggg time ago. This is one of those cases that has always been in my brain. I think this book helped me understand the situation a lot more. Thanks
Eh not a bad read. It was an in between book for me as I couldn't decide what book to buy next and this one was short so I bought it. I'm not big on books like this because it's not rich in detail. I prefer the whole picture of a region and in depth insight of the all the main characters in the story. But if you like short ditties about a bunch of murder and mayhem in a quick read, this is the book for you.
Each very short story is a mere abridged regurgitation of what appears in court records and the courier journal .. and these are not even the most notorious of murders in the state nor are they the most bizarre . Most are the unfortunate result of mental illness untreated. Don't waste your time on this book !
It's hard to write a review of individual stories about murder. They all were tragic in their own way. What I got out of them was that everyone has their own crosses to bear when it comes to personal family issues. What makes these stories sad is the overwhelming evidence that your loved one is either very sick or just tremendously angry. Their reluctance to acknowledge this and do what needed to be done to ensure everyone's safety caused them to lose their lives in despicable ways. Tremendously heartbreaking.
